a new era begins to begin for many of usthe soup kitchen is seriously disfunctional and practically non-existant these days. i've barely seen my roommates since saturday. none of us can abide being here because the internet is down and the swamp cooler doesn't work, and we are all getting ready to move or move on. these are lonely days for grandpa jex. it makes me shake my fist at the heat and at our stress and for the way it makes us split and disconnect. wild and tremendous things have been happening to us these days, yet we are only aware of ourselves. i have been here about a year, now, and this week i will begin moving all things away, beginning with books. and beginning with bikes. i hope our lives will continue to feel just a little bit epic, as they've felt these last months. for soup to just dwindle and fizzle away into the dry heat would be such a shame.
